Construction Update – September 19

Thornton Creek Confluence Project
Construction Update – September 19

We released the south branch of Thornton Creek this week! It now flows under 35th Ave. NE to meet the north branch, which has been flowing freely for several weeks. We also installed the concrete girders across the new bridge to form the top of the new culvert.

Upcoming work:

• Continued work on the bridge
• Connect the high flow ponds to Meadowbrook Pond with new culverts

Important Reminders
• Now that school has begun we’d like to remind everyone that for your safety the construction zone is not open to the public. Children and adults should not enter the construction zone during or after hours. Do your part to remain safe and alert near the construction site.
• Local businesses and public facilities are open during construction. These include the Meadowbrook Community Center and Pool, as well as Café Lati and Santorini Pizza and Pasta (both on the corner of 35th Ave NE and NE 110th Street).
