Keep our Lake City Farmer’s Market!

Friends, please distribute this post far and wide to your groups and contacts: we are in peril of losing the Lake City Farmer’s market due to decreasing attendance. Lake City Farmers Market

By April 18, please take this easy survey–link below– to help the Neighborhood Farmer’s Market Alliance and your fellow community members determine how we can improve the market and increase attendance. It would be a shame to lose this incredible asset. Your help is appreciated!

Night Out a HUGE Success

Night Out Seattle

August 6, 2013

I want to thank you for another successful Night Out.
776 blocks registered this year in the North Precinct’s neighborhoods. Add up all the registrants in the other four police precincts and the sum would be around 600 total. I know it is not a competition, but we have to be proud of the cohesiveness of the north end. I want to say thanks to all of you who registered; arranged for street closures; coordinated the potlucks and barbecues, etc. North Precinct Patrol officers; the Community Police Team, SPD management and I were out on Night Out, attempting to visit as many events as possible. My guesstimate is that over 100 parties were visited by SPD up here. On my foray out into the neighborhoods, I saw water balloons; bagpipes; drum circles; food trucks; Roosevelt brass band alum performances; face painting; pet parades; chalk drawings, and oh the bountiful tables of food.

It was a great night, and I hope you’ll keep the communication going year round. As we’ve always said, “A watchful neighbor is your best alarm.” Please contact me if you want or need any information from me. Thanks again for a great Night Out! Hope you can do it again next August.
